On average 70% of archive records are not required to be kept. Sentencing is the process of applying a records management policy to decide whether to retain or destroy a record. Sentencing will identify and classify a record and determine how long that record should be retained. The end result is that records are either destroyed (that are no longer needed) or retained with a date for future review.

 

As a result of the cataloguing and sentencing exercise Corporate Cataloguing will significantly reduce your storage costs and create an efficient and structured database of your records making it easier to retrieve records.

 

Corporate Cataloguing will manage your on-going document handling and will be the gatekeeper for records entering and exiting storage. Corporate Cataloguing is usually engaged to apply the above process for current  and legacy records.
